21-year-old Sherrick “Shawty” Cuffie was born and raised in Largo, FL. At the encouragement of his grandmother, Shawty began singing in local churches when he was nine years old. At the age of 10, Shawty unknowingly sang for the late, great Isaac Hayes while belting out hymns in an Orlando based church. Hayes was so moved by the performance that he relayed the story to local newspapers the following day.

At 16, Shawty wrote a song called Now That I’m Leaving. The song was instantly embraced by his neighborhood friends and acquaintances. It was then Shawty realized he had a bona fide talent for singing and song writing, and when Shawty graduated high school he began to pursue his passion feverishly.

Along with writing club bangers, Shawty also wrote songs about his life and past experiences, including the street life he gave up at 14 after he was arrested. Shawty drove around Florida promoting his songs, and performing at local schools and clubs. People began to take notice of this hot, young artist and soon Shawty was singing the hooks on songs for well-known national artists. Shawty can be heard on Rick Ross’ up-coming single Take off Your Clothes, and currently on Frank Lini’s Dope Boy Dime. Shawty has also worked with Crunk City/Dirty Down Record’s artist JT Money.

In April 2009, Shawty was discovered by Tampa based artist, Strizzo whose singles include Sweat and Burn my Hit. Shawty soon signed with his label, the Tampa Bay based 5 O’Clock Entertainment, Inc.  They have released his debut single I Made It Rain, featuring Strizzo. It is currently available on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, emusic, LaLa & Limewire Store.

I Made It Rain was produced by Vinnie Beatz. Shawty free-styled the I Made it Rain verses and wrote the song’s infectious hook while in the recording studio. Shawty is currently working on his debut album while commanding show dates throughout central Florida. His single was added to CBS Radio Wild 94.1 (WLLD) June 23, 2010.

Lovas of Music…Meet Mr. Savol

Lovas of  R&B music will be enthused to know that Scott Savol who, at one time in his life wouldn’t let you watch him release the harmonies and melodies that filled his soul.  Taking the stage on American Idol in 2005 created the most beautiful song in Scott’s ears, and this brought forth determination to do what he loved most with all fears set aside.  He finished in the top 5 and has become a household name ever since. Scott has recently been working on a new album in which will be distributed by Warner Bros. Music. He is soon to take the world by storm starting out with promoting his album and new single “Beauty Queen” planning a nationwide tour, hitting 100+ stations across the country. Recently I had the honor of running into the phenominal Dhylles Waight owner of KatWalk Katerers. This talented diva has much to be proud of. Her dream of coordinating events and representing talent began when she coordinated her high school prom and her grandparent’s wedding anniversary,and birthday party. While she coordinated these events Dhylles was already modeling with a group in Belize but was uncomfortable with the modeling industry at that time just at the young age of 18. Turning over a new leaf at the age of 31 Dhylles decided to try the field again this time with a whole new vision in view. Modeling again in 2008 and amped with diva power tools stepped it up a notch further and cordinated her first fashion show in August 2008 and continues to carry on her success today.

Building her dream has not been accomplished without the help of the one that supports and shares her dream fiance Dennis Davis together they have built a power team that assist aspiring models in getting their career off the ground giving them the ammunition they need succeed. To give better oppourtunities and as a way to give back they have set dreams aimed for reality for their team knowing, eventually they will become successful entreprenuers themselves!

Mitchell, hails from the city of Wickliffe a suburb right outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Being the youngest of three Mitchell decided it was time to leave the small close-knit community of Wickliffe to pursue his acting career in 2003.

Mitchell made his first feature film appearance in the 2007 Paramount feature film ZODIAC, starring Jake Gyllenaal and directed by David Fincher. He has continued to excel and grow his career and has guest starred on Cold Case, The Unit, Still Standing, CSI:NY, The OC, the ABC pilot Him & US with Kim Catrall and a recurring role on the hit show CSI and now his latest role in the new web series Soul Fire Rising  as” Gabriel”.

As I sit here thinking about the feeling of being accomplished, and what it takes to get there. I imagine my good friend in the baseball field wings tucked behind his back as he hits the ball out into the open field watching it disappear into the greatness of the sky, never landing. As he reaches each and every base the thought of the distance from whence he came enters his mind. A smile crosses my face in realization yes, indeed my friend you have  made a home run. Continue to excel and do well in all that you dream. I am right behind you….
